If you're looking for the perfect gift with a personal touch for the do it yourselfer in your life, why not try assembling a complete hammer kit for him or her? Nothing could be more perfect than taking the time to find and put together all the different hammers your special someone could ever need.

The first and most important is, of course, the curved claw hammer, your standard, everyday hammer and probably what you think of when you think of a hammer. Even if your someone already has one of these, consider getting them another for their hammer kit. You can always use a second curved claw hammer.

The second best addition to your hammer kit is the ripping claw hammer. It has a straight claw rather than the forked, curved one of the other hammer, and is best for demolition projects, or anything involving ripping things out.

Another good addition to your hammer kit is the ball peen hammer. It sounds weird, but this rounded hammer is actually quite useful. It's used for shaping and bending metal in construction.

A drywall hammer is another useful addition to your hammer kit. This strange looking hammer has a waffled head for a better grip on nails and a hatchet instead of a claw, for cutting out old drywall. This is not one of the more important hammers in your hammer kit unless you find yourself in the middle of a lot of drywall projects or you intend to start a large project involving drywall in the near future, but even so, if you're wanting the full kit, this hammer is definitely part of it.

Next up, the tack hammer, another hammer that you can do without if you have to, but shouldn't do without if you can help it. This is designed for nailing in tacks and brads, and is great for putting up small nails for hanging pictures or other ornaments.

And last but not least, the rubber mallet. This hammer isn't used for pounding in nails; use it for putting together furniture that may have come apart, or for any other project where you need to pound together pieces without damaging them.

These six hammers will make up the perfect gift for the special do it yourselfer in your life.
